Health Protection Agency HPA confirms that a total of 74 individuals have now recovered from the Covid-19 global pandemic in the Maldives.
Speaking to the media, HPA’s epidemiologist Dr. Ibrahim Afzal said that the latest update showed that 15 patients have now recovered from the virus and that this includes 7 locals and 8 foreigners.
He added that all 8 foreigners were from Bangladesh.
These 15 recoveries take the total number of recovered patients in the Maldives to 74.
HPA officials have said that the rate of recovery in most patients infected with Covid-19 in the Maldives appears to be slow.
However, officials have also said that most Covid-19 patients in the country remain asymptomatic throughout the illness.
A total of 1106 individuals have tested positive for Covid-19. Four people have died of the illness in the Maldives that includes three locals above 80 and a 33-year-old Bangladeshi national.
