Health Protection Agency HPA reports that 11 more people have tested positive for Covid-19 in the Maldives.
In a tweet, HPA said these 11 people include 8 Maldivians and 3 Bangladeshis. The numbers of locals tested positive for Covid-19 have been increasing day by day.
The new cases take the total number of Covid-19 cases recorded in the Maldives to a staggering 1031.
Bangladeshis living in the country represent a major portion of the positive cases with 535 infected with Covid-19 in Maldives.
360 locals have tested positive for Covid-19 in the country since its first case in March.
Four people have died of Covid-19 in the Maldives including three locals above 80 years of age and a 33-year-old Bangladeshi national.
49 people who contracted the illness have since recovered from Covid-19 in the Maldives.
