Health Protection Agency HPA says 22 individuals have tested positive for Covid-19 today.
In a tweet, HPA said that this includes 16 locals and 6 Bangladeshi nationals. Also 1 Indian and a Nepalese national tested positive for Covid-19 today.
This takes the total number of cases in the Maldives to 766.
Health officials have confirmed that 20 Covid-19 patients have recovered from the illness so far in the Maldives.
But three people have died from Covid-19 in the country including two locals and a Bangladeshi national.
Authorities have warned that positive cases could surge in the next two weeks and that stricter measures would be required to repel the surge.
