Health Protection Agency HPA reports 86 individuals have tested positive for Covid-19 today with authorities now saying that the current surge will spike at the end of this month.
In a tweet, HPA said 67 Bangladeshi nationals, 14 Maldivians, 3 Indians, 1 Sri Lankan, and 1 Nepalese were tested positive for Covid-19 today.
HPA said that this includes samples from active surveillance of vulnerable homes.
Today’s new cases take the total number of positive cases to a staggering 734.
20 people have recovered from the illness in the Maldives while 3 others have died of Covid-19 in the country.
This includes an 83-year-old local woman, an 80-year-old local man, and a 33-year-old Bangladeshi national.
