Heath Protection Agency HPA confirms 45 new cases of Covid-19 in the Maldives taking the total number of cases to 618.
HPA said via twitter that 35 Bangladeshi nationals, 2 Indians, and 8 locals have all tested positive for Covid-19 today.
HPA said that this includes samples from active surveillance of vulnerable homes.
20 people who have tested positive for Covid-19 in Maldives have recovered while 2 others have died of the virus in the country. Health officials are treating 6 critical patients admitted in Dharumavantha Hospital 11th floor DH11.
The latest update from the authorities said 2 of the patients were on the ventilator while another was on oxygen support. The officials added that the remaining three patients were stable.
HPA officials have warned of a spike in cases in the coming two weeks citing expert forecast compiled based on virus spread patterns and internationally available data.
