National Emergency Operations Center NEOC spokesperson Mohamed Mabrook Azeez says 28 foreign labor quarters have been placed under monitoring with samples pending from 5 quarters.
Speaking to the media, Mabrook said two days ago Covid-19 samples were taken from7 expatriate labor quarters taking the total quarters tested to 23.
Mabrook said five labor quarters remain to be tested for Covid-19.
On April 30th, HPA officials said 23 expatriate labor quarters have been placed under monitoring that housed over 1085 migrant workers.
A total of 574 people have tested positive for Covid-19 in Maldives that includes 205 locals and 323 foreigners. Most of the foreigners tested positive for the virus are migrant workers living in congested housings in the capital Male’.
