Health Protection Agency HPA says two COVID-19 patients currently under treatment at Dharumavantha Hospital 11th floor DH11 are on ventilators.
Speaking to the media, HPA epidemiologist Dr. Ibrahim Afzal said, a total of 6 COVID-19 patients were undergoing treatment at DH11 and that two of them were on ventilators. He explained that an 88-year-old man and a 70-year-old man were on a ventilator. He added that the medical team was also giving oxygen to an 80-year-old Covid-19 patient admitted in DH11.
Dr. Afzal said the remaining three patients were stable and this includes an 80-year-old local woman, a 58-year-old local woman, and a 48-year-old Pakistani national.
A total of 573 people have tested positive for Covid-19 in Maldives including 205 Maldivians.
While 20 people have now recovered from the Maldives, 2 people have died from the virus in the country. Yesterday a 33-year-old Bangladeshi died while receiving treatment at Indira Gandhi Memorial Hospital. Officials have said that the person was brought it after having tonic-clonic seizures and tested positive for Covid-19 after a routine test of the virus. IGMH doctors said the patient had suffered a stroke and that his brain hemorrhaged.

Last week, an-83-year-old died of Covid-19 after HPA officials failed to test the woman for Covid-19 promptly.
