National Emergency Operations Center NEOC spokesperson Mohamed Mabrook Azeez says the government is planning to repatriate 32 Maldivian students stranded in Ukraine amid the Covid-19 crisis.

Updating the local media on the latest developments in the fight against the global pandemic, Mabrook said 32 Maldivian students who wanted to return home from their studies in Ukraine would be brought back.

He added that the students were now sorting out their ticketing details.

Mabrook also said that a flight from Thailand would arrive in the morning and that a Maldivian would return home abroad this boat.

A flight from Thailand flew back from Maldives yesterday taking Thai nationals stranded here in the country amid the crisis.

The Government is working to repatriate all the Maldivians currently staying abroad during the crisis while it is also continuing efforts to facilitate the return of foreigners stuck in the country reach their destinations.
