Health Protection Agency HPA reports an additional 72 cases of Covid-19 in the Maldives with fears mounting of a massive outbreak in the tiny island nation.
In a tweet, HPA said 72 Bangladeshis have tested positive for Covid-19 in the country.
HPA said these samples were taken from individuals in isolation at a vulnerable house placed under police surveillance.
With this new development, the total number of Covid-19 cases in Maldives now stands at 468.
Seventeen people have recovered from the illness in the country while one had passed away from the virus. An 83-year-old woman passed away on Wednesday and was tested positive for Covid-19 postmortem.
