Rescue flights have been scheduled on 13 April and 16 April to a total of three countries.

Reports confirm the rescue flights are set for India, Bangladesh and Nepal.

National Disaster Management Authority's Chief Executive and the Director of National Emergency Operation Center Hisan Hassan claimed rescue flights have been scheduled on the aforementioned dates.

Moreover, Hisan added a total of 150 locals have been set to come from Bangalore and Cochin, India and another 69 are set to arrive through the rescue flights from Bangladesh and Nepal.

Additionally, she mentioned the current number of passengers is tentative and is subject to change.

Meanwhile several other rescue flights have been planned to fly in locals stranded abroad.

A flight from Maldivian Airlines is scheduled to fly in locals from Trivandrum on Saturday as well.

Maldives government have been making rescue efforts to fly in locals who are currently facing detrimental circumstances abroad in light of the COVID-19 pandemic.
