Health Protection Agency HPA lifts the curfew imposed in the Greater Male’ Region.
In statement, HPA said the daily curfew imposed in the Greater Male’ Region of Male’, Hulhumale’ and Villimale would be lifted from 17:00hrs today.
The week old curfew was imposed from 17:00hrs to 20:00hrs everyday. HPA ordered restrictions on road traffic during the curfew and urged pedestrians to also stay indoors.
HPA also ordered that public transport including buses and ferries should be stopped during the curfew.
Even though the curfew was lifted, HPA said crowds of more than three people are still prohibited in public areas.
HPA urged that crowd control and social distancing practices should be maintained at local markets, super markets, stores, offices, bank and other service centers.
Authorities are taking several measures in its’ fight against Covid-19 with public parks and restaurants ordered close.
Government offices, Schools, universities and colleges will be closed for an additional week as part of these measures.
