The Male' Water and Sewerage Company (MWSC) limited has decided to digitize and issue their utility bills electronically.

In a statement from the company, the decision was made in order to ensure safety of its employees as well as the general public amid the viral pandemic outbreak.

MWSC confirm the utility bills will be pushed electronically through their app to registered residences.

The MWSC allows customers to pay to pending bills via mobile-pay options, monitor usage of water as well as engage in customer-care representatives through live-chat options.

MWSC further confirms the printed bills will be sent to residences not registered on to their app, adding the printed utility bills will only reach to the ground floor of such residences.

The now global COVID-19 pandemic, has not just rendered overall economy of the island nation idle; but has pushed for major corporations and companies to revise and change their standard operational procedures.

Many service-related businesses have opted to online portals in delivering their services while the country's national bank; Bank of Maldives (BML) have advised its customer base on opting for internet or mobile banking options primarily.
