President's Office Under Secretary and the official spokesperson on COVID-19 developments in Maldives Mr. Mabrouk Azeez says, telecommunication companies in the country will unveil their new internet service charges tomorrow.
Speaking to the media, Mr. Mabrouk said even with the country facing the Covid-19 crisis, internet prices have soared while the Internet speed has left room for many complains from the public. He added that these complain have been heard and that actions taken will be announced.
Mr. Mabrouk said although Internet charges will be changed these changes will be applied on the 1st of April. He said the telecommunication companies would host a joint press conference to unveil the changes and update media on the revisions.
This comes after President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih promised that Internet prices would be brought down. He made the promise the last time he spoke to the media during the current crisis.
