A Maldivian has been tested positive for the highly contagious covid-19 virus in UAE.
In a statement by UAE' Ministry of Health and Prevention said 50 people tested positive for the virus today and that this includes a Maldivian citizen.
The statement said the 50 individuals include those who had close contact with previously positive cases as well as people who returned from abroad.
Foreign Ministry said that it has also received reports of a Maldivian being tested positive for Covid-19 and that it was confirming the reports through official channels.
If confirmed, this would be the first time a Maldivian is tested positive for the deadly virus.
