Education Ministry has postponed the May/June A’level exams here in Maldives.

The Ministry said while the schools are closed amid the Covid-19 crisis it has decided to postpone the May/June A’level exams to Oct/November of this year.

This comes after Cambridge International decided not to run their international exams in the May/June 2020 series in any country.

Cambridge said it had been consulting closely with their global community of schools and their first priority is to protect the safety and wellbeing of students and teachers.

It said it will be working with schools to assess students’ achievements using the best available evidence and that students will receive a grade and a certificate from Cambridge International, given the knowledge and skills they have acquired in their programmes of study.

Cambridge said that this would ensure students do not face disadvantage as a result of these extraordinary circumstances.
