Maldives President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has officially inaugurated Izzudeen School.
The new school, developed at the same premises where the former MES School was run, was opened by Maldives head of state on Sunday morning.
Over 300 students have enrolled to the new educational institute, where the initial batch will range from first grader classes to sixth grader classes.
The Education Ministry confirms inclusion of advancing grades in the following years - including secondary level grades; 8, 9 and 10.
Izzudeen School is named after the famed historic Sultan of Maldives, Gazi Hasan Izzudeen (Siri Kularanmeeba Katthiri Bavana Maharadun) who is more famously known in the island nation as 'Dhon Bandaarain.'
The Maldives President was flanked by his Vice President Faisal Naseem along with Education Minister Dr. Aishath Ali and several other state dignitaries.
