The Presidential Address for 2020 by incumbent head of state Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has been scheduled for 03 February.

The address will take place during the first sitting of the Maldives Parliament for the current year.

Maldives Government has declared 03 February as a public holiday in light of the presidential address.

Although the presidential address will be given at Maldives Parliament in 2020, the address was held at Dharubaaruge Convention Center the previous year.

The Presidential Address is mandated under the Maldivian Constitution which dictates, the residing head of state must give the presidential address during the first sitting of the parliament each year.

During the address, the Maldives President is expected to announce the state's plan for the overall progress and development of the island nation in socio-economic capacity.
