In a major escalation following the Pahalgam terror attack, Indian security forces have destroyed two more houses belonging to active terrorists in Jammu and Kashmir.
On Saturday, the residence of Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) operative Jameel Ahmed in Bandipora was blown up, marking the ninth such demolition since Friday. Jameel, an active member of Lashkar since 2016, was targeted as part of India’s intensified efforts to dismantle terror infrastructure in the region.Footage from the aftermath shows the structure in ruins, with shattered windows and a collapsed roof, as locals sifted through the debris.
Separately, the house of Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM) terrorist Amir Nazir was also demolished by security forces in Tral overnight.
These demolitions follow Friday’s targeting of two other properties linked to active Lashkar terrorists: Adnan Shafi in Shopian — who joined LeT in 2024 — and Farooq Ahmed, currently believed to be operating from Pakistan.
Over the past three days, security forces, supported by local authorities, have launched a coordinated offensive across Kashmir — using IEDs to destroy properties linked to militants involved in the deadly Pahalgam attack, which killed 26 people, mostly tourists.
Notably, the house of Lashkar terrorist Adil Hussain Thoker, a key conspirator in the Pahalgam attack, was also bombed on Friday in Bijbehara.Thoker, who had crossed over to Pakistan in 2018 and re-entered Jammu and Kashmir last year after receiving terror training, is suspected to have played a critical role in facilitating the massacre at Baisaran Meadows on April 22.
Anantnag Police have announced a ₹20 lakh bounty for Thoker and two Pakistani nationals — Ali Bhai alias Talha and Asif Fauji — believed to be directly involved in the killings.
Investigations reveal that around 5–6 terrorists carried out the brutal attack, targeting Hindu tourists, forcing them to recite the Kalma, and then executing them.
The ongoing crackdown signals India’s zero-tolerance approach towards terrorism, especially against Pakistan-backed terror networks operating in Kashmir. (Reported by India Today)
