Minister of Homeland Security and Technology Ali Ihusan says this administration has taken measures to ensure that the data at the Department of National Registration (DNR) has not been compromised and will not be compromised in the future.

At today's Parliamentary session, the Minister answered questions from the Members of the Parliament, including a question about how the ruling PNC was able to bolster its membership with the misuse of the DNR database by the MP for Galolhu South Constituency, Meekail Naseem.

Replying to this question, the minister said that the personal information of the people under the state has been leaked in the past.

He said Since 2014, data containing personal information of the people has been leaked and some political parties have used the data for political purposes.

The Minister noted that since this administration came into power, the government has taken preventive measures against this.

A penetration test has been conducted, and the system has been patched, and signatures have been compiled on the APIs given to the system now, he said.

Minister Ihusan added that employees who currently have physical access to data will only be able to access it as needed for official work.

The minister reiterated that no one has been admitted to any party by obtaining personal information from the DNR database.
