Police have confirmed that the US Federal Bureau of Investigation, FBI is helping them in the investigation of the death of a woman on the island of Noonu Holhudhoo.
A woman named Zakiyya Moosa, 54, was found dead in her home last September with several stab wounds and her murder weapon nearby. Police have said that there was no visible evidence that suggests that the woman was murdered.
Today, the Police said that they have shared their findings with the FBI and that they are seeking their assistance in the investigation.
Police also said that a senior police investigation team has also reviewed the case and has visited the island of Holhudhoo to further study the case.
It added that the Police continue to investigate the case in Holhudhoo.
Protests have been staged in Holhudhoo over the lack of development in the case and the Police' failure to make an arrest in the case.
