Foreign Minister Abdullah Khaleel says the Maldives' positions on international issues have not changed.
In a social media post, Minister Khaleel said that this was evident from the country's voting patterns at the United Nations.
He also said that the Maldives has always taken a principled stance on issues related to the independence, sovereignty, and territorial integrity of all countries - in line with the UN Charter.
The Minister added that the Maldives maintains a balanced foreign policy, rooted in close and friendly relations with all countries.
He further said that this was to protect the sovereignty and independence of the country, for the benefit of the Maldivian people.
