National Social Protection Agency NSPA has apologized for disclosing the financial assistance it provided to a cancer patient.
NSP has revealed details of the assistance given to a patient undergoing cancer treatment to expose false information following a post on social media. The social media post alleged that NSPA had not assisted the patient.
NSPA said today that it had issued a statement detailing the assistance given to the patient to prove that the information being circulated was false and was being spread to damage the agency's reputation.
It further said that the statement had not revealed the identity of the patient but that it did reveal the details of the financial assistance provided to the patient.
NSPA acknowledged that this was wrong and apologized for revealing this information about the patient.
The Agency faced backlash from the public on how it had handled the allegations against it.
