Ministry of Housing, Land, and Urban Development says it has postponed releasing the temporary list of recipients of flats to be awarded under the Gedhoruveriya Housing Scheme.
In a statement today, the Ministry said it was re-evaluating all the application forms submitted for the scheme announced in November 2023 despite the previous administration issuing a list of recipients for the scheme.
The Ministry highlighted a member of the public filed a complaint at the Anti-Corruption Commission saying that the previous list was compiled unfairly.
It also noted that due to the complaint at the ACC, President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu formed a 'Housing Advisory Committee' and the Male' City Council formed a 'Housing Consultative Committee to review the list.
The Ministry stated both committees found that the list published on 15th November 2023 was compiled wrongly and that the Ministry then began to re-evaluate all the application forms.
It added that it needs more time to finish the re-evaluation process and announced that the temporary list would be published in the 2nd week of November 2024.
