Immigration has raided a local market in Hulhumale' Phase 1 as it continues its crackdown on undocumented migrants living in the Greater Male' Area.

It said via a post on X that a special raid was conducted at the 'Rashu Market' in Hulhumale Phase 1. It said that 23 foreigners working illegally in 15 stalls of the market were detained during the raid.

Immigration said the detained foreigners include 15 men and 8 women.

It also said that 30 immigration officers and 24 police officers were involved in the raid.

Immigration added that relevant agencies such as the Health Protection Agency and the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade also participated in the raid.

Immigration has teamed up security agencies to carry out raids against illegal migrants and have been hitting small businesses and other areas where illegal mirgants operate in the Greater Male' Area.
