A student from Huravee School has died today while at the school.
Police said the student was a 13-year-old girl.
They said that the school reported that a student attending the morning session of the school in Hulhumale' was rushed to the Hulhumale' hospital after a medical emergency.
Police cited the hospital and reported that the student was declared dead on arrival.
They did not give any other information about the sudden death of the student and added that they were further investigating the case.
Local media reported that the student suffered a medical emergency while having lunch at the school during break time.
