Police say a special team of police officers is heading to Noonu Atoll Holhudhoo after authorities there found a woman with injuries dead in a house on the island earlier today.
Police said today that they received a report of a woman with serious injuries found in a house on the island earlier this morning and that officers were dispatched to the scene.
Police said that the officers on scene rushed the woman to the island's health center. They cited the Center to report that the woman was declared dead on arrival.
In the latest update, Police said a special team of investigators is on their way to the island to join the investigation on the island. They did not reveal any more information about the case.
The deceased is a 50-year-old local woman named Zakiyya Moosa.
Yesterday, a man with serious injuries was found in a room in a guest house in Male'. The local man was then rushed to Indira Gandhi Memorial Hospital where he was treated at the Intensive Care Unit.
Police had also said that they were investigating the case but have yet to arrest a suspect in the case.
