Immigration says scammers in immigration uniforms are making video calls to members of the public to get valuable information from them.
It said that it had come to its notice that some people were adorning the uniforms of immigration officers and making video calls to the public from a foreign number through WhatsApp.
Immigration also said the callers were asking for personal information and bank information via video calls.
It assured that these were not actions of Immigration Officers and urged the public to remain cautious of such scam calls.
Meanwhile, Police urged the public to remain cautious about fraudsters who have been using social media platforms to post fake dollar sale ads.
In this regard, the police said that foreign exchange transactions should be done with reliable and legally authorized persons to avoid falling victim to such scams.
