Maldives National Defence MNDF has confirmed that the man found under an overturned landing craft has succumbed to his injuries.
MNDF reported earlier today that a landing craft traveling from Raa Atoll to Male' had capsized and overturned leaving the crew stranded.
It said that five the landing craft was carrying five crew members and one crew member was reported missing. MNDF launched a search operation to find the missing crew member with MNDF deployed divers to the site of the accident.
MNDF later confirmed that the missing crew member was found under the overturned landing craft and that the man was unresponsive when found.
In its latest update, MNDF confirmed that the foreigner was already when he was brought to the nearest health center and that the health center had confirmed this.
The rest of the crew members were picked up by the sea ambulance. MNDF did not reveal where this accident happened though it usually releases this information in relation to naval incidents.
