The President of the Elections Commission Fuwad Thaufeeq has urged those concerned to submit the incident where job threats were made at a PNC campaign rally as a complaint to the National Complaints Bureau.
He said this in response to a post made by a member of the public.
Speaking at a political rally held for the PNC candidate for the Hinnavaru Constituency, Ahmed Shareef said that the government must call up employees of the Kuddoo Fish factory who support opposition parties and ask them for cooperation.
He said that if such employees do not cooperate with the government, then appropriate action must be taken and that this was the only forward.
At a rally where Fisheries Minister Ahmed Shiyam also took part, Ahmed Shareef urged the Minister to ask the President to give the government's candidate the power to control those working at Felivaru Fish factory and give them the power over hiring and firing at the factory.
Speaking on the matter, the President of the Elections Commission said that this was not right and urged those concerned to file a complaint at the National Complaints Bureau.
