Maldives Marketing and Public Relations Corporation MMPRC says its disciplinary committee is investigating after reports surfaced on social media that several employees of the corporation have become victims of alleged sexual assault.

MMPRC said this in a statement it issued after social media reports accused the corporation's Deputy Managing Director Bassam Adam of sexually assaulting three female employees of the corporation.

In the statement, MMPRC said that none of its employees have formally lodged a complaint at the Corporation regarding the allegations.

However, it said that it would investigate the allegations to determine the truth behind the allegations based on the information the management has received.

It said that the investigation would be spearheaded by the corporation's disciplinary committee.

MMPRC assured that it would take appropriate actions following the outcome of the investigation. The Managing Director of MMPRC Aishath Thaufeeq said via X that no such behaviour will be tolerated that this will be investigated with topmost seriousness and that action will be taken against anyone found guilty.
