The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) has searched the residence of the Badminton Association of the Maldives (BAM) President Moosa Nasheed and two other locations.
The ACC confirmed to the Press that it raided Nasheed's residence, office, and business, Askani Sports, last night.
Last week, ACC searched BAM's officeciting allegations of corruption.
ACC said it had received several corruption-related accusations aimed at the Badminton Association of the Maldives. The ACC refused to give any more information about the nature of the allegations and just said that its agents were now active on the scene.
The ACC probe coincides with public complaints about the election to select the EXCO members of the Badminton Association.
A source close to the matter told The Press that the current association President, Moosa Nasheed (Moosa), is trying to hold the election on his own and move the voting process to Addu City by colluding with certain parties.
Meanwhile, others have accused Moosa Nasheed of giving undue advantages to local businesses connected to him when buying goods and other materials required for the Association.
Recently, Sports Commissioner Mohamed Tholal said there are issues within the association and that any election held without resolving the problem would not be accepted.
