President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu says housing loans will be made available in the last quarter of this year.

He said this while addressing the residents of Noonu Kendhikulhudhoo, the last leg of his tour of the northern islands.

The President said that the development of the whole country was connected to housing and that the government is working on creating more economic opportunities on the front.

Noting that such opportunities can be produced within the banking system, he said that the results of these opportunities will be seen later this year. President Muizzu said that these housing development opportunities would be available for the residents of Kendhikulhadhoo too and that housing loans will be made available across the Maldives after July/August.

The President said that the government is looking to move on to developing housing units where housing has become a major social issue. He added that issuing housing loans would permanently ease the housing-related issues facing islands such as Kedhikulhadhoo.

President Muizzu said that the government has made big developmental plans for Kedhikulhadhoo and that the island has many areas for economic development too.
