Vice President Hussain Mohamed Latheef implored the public to take fulfilment in serving the nation and religion diligently with loyalty and honesty. He conveyed these sentiments during the official ceremony to commemorate Martyrs' Day at the Social Centre this evening.

Speaking at the ceremony, the Vice President articulated the importance of drawing lessons from the sacrifices of our heroes, exemplifying the prioritisation of religion and the country's independence over personal interest.

The Vice President reiterated President Dr Mohamed Muizzu's earlier remarks on Martyrs' Day this year, particularly highlighting the valuable lesson for students drawn from the sacrifice of King Ali. He also expressed gratitude towards the President for resuming the celebration of Martyrs' Day as a day of national significance.

In his speech, he emphasised the importance of remembering King Ali's sacrifice as essential for protecting the nation, Islamic values, and unity.

The Vice President’s spouse, Aishath Afreen Mohamed, Ministers, high-ranking Government officials, and foreign ambassadors also participated in the ceremony.
