President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has denied reports that alleged that land plots issued under the 'Gedhoruveirya' Housing scheme are awarded as per a list controlled by First Lady Saajidhaa Mohamed.

He denied this while answering a question from Fathimath Adam of Hulhumale' Flat number 104. Since the beginning of this month, the President has been answering video questions from regular citizens daily.

Fathimath said unknown media were circulating reports that land plots are being issued as per a list controlled by the First Lady and while she did not believe it herself, she wanted reassurance from the President on the matter.

Answering this question, President Muizzu said that such allegations were untrue and only sought to create doubt in the hearts of the people. The President gave his reassurance that his government would never violate any rights of the people.

I want to reassure you that neither I nor my wife, or any of my friends, any official within the government or exert any influence from anywhere to violate any of the rights of the citizens
President Muizzu

The President said under his rule housing and any other programs would be carried out fairly and with transparency with no room for corruption or undue influence. He added that if any one is found to be carrying out such actions, he himself would take the initiative to take action against the person.
