Police have arrested two men for stealing more than MVR 1 million from H. Thimaaveshi, the residence of MP for Kaashidhoo Constituency Abdullah Jabir.
The police said that a case of theft of more than a million rufiya from the house was reported last Thursday.
Police said that A 30-year-old man and a 38-year-old man were arrested under a court order. They said that the 30-year-old man was arrested on Friday and a 38-year-old man was arrested on Saturday.
They added that the two men have a criminal record.
Police said the two men were arrested and their residence was searched. Some of the items stolen from the home were found in one of the suspect's home residences there, including electronics and a wristwatch. The value of the items is more than a million rufiya.
The 30-year-old man was remanded in custody for 30 days and the 38-year-old man for 15 days.
