President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu says discussions are ongoing on establishing a developmental bank in the Maldives.
Before entering the cabinet meeting, President Muizzu said there were very important issues to be discussed at the cabinet meeting today.
President Muizzu said the discussion will include the establishment of a development bank in Maldives and the removal of hurdles in using online payment platforms. Important issues such as the introduction of a category for tourism and social housing will be discussed today, he said.
President Muizzu added that the establishment of a media village has been decided today.
During his presidential campaign, President Muizzu said he would establish a development finance institution or investment bank in Maldives to build resorts and other investments through the bank.
The bank will also be used by various businesses in Maldives and Maldives industries, he said.
