Vice President Hussain Mohamed Latheef says the members of the current parliament have brought shame to the establishment by refusing to approve the cabinet of President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu and that this is the first time in the country's history that the cabinet approval has been delayed.
He made the comments while speaking at a campaign rally held by the PNC Male' City Mayorship Candidate Azima Shukoor.
The Vice President said that the delay in approving the cabinet was to wreak havoc on the constitutional system. Noting that no administration had to face such an issue, Vice President Hussain said that if the chance is given to those who have no vision of development, the progress the government is planning to bring might be halted.
Vice President Hussain said some of the candidates do not believe in the vision set by the government and that they do not believe in implementing this vision.
He said that when voting in the Male' City Mayor Election, Constituents must be wary of voting for candidates that have opposing views and must not give the chance to opposition candidates to hinder national development.
