Principal Secretary to the President on Public Policy Abdulla Nazim Ibrahim has announced that the government will set up its first social center for senior citizens at the building that formerly housed the center of the Holy Quran.

Speaking at a press conference today, Nazim said that the Ministry of Social and Family Development has proposed to establish social centers dedicated to senior citizens.

Noting that many of the senior citizens in the country are individuals who have retired after serving the state and country for a long time, Nazim said that the current administration places a high importance on ensuring their physical and mental well-being.

Nazim said that the first such center would be established at the building that formerly housed the Center for the Holy Quran. Nazim stated that the government plans to build these centers in different locations across the country and that this decision was taken by President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu with the backing of his cabinet.

Nazim explained that once these centers are established, the Health Ministry, Youth Ministry, and the Sports Ministry will work together to give services to those who use the facilities.
