Former Managing Director of Road Development Corporations Moosa Ali Manik (Mookey) has announced that he will be competing in the MDP Primary to select party candidates for the Parliamentary elections.

Mookey said via a post on 'x' that he would compete in the MDP primary for Hulhumale North Constituency.

He said that he would work to establish all the necessary services in Hulhumale' Phase 2 and bring the under-developed area to 'life'. Mookey also assured that he would bring legal relief to 'Male' registry' citizens who are always isolated from services and make them be seen as residents of Male'.

Mookey invited those who were interested to join his campaign for the primary and eventually the parliament seat.

The former RDC MD was heavily under fire during the last few months of his tutelage at the corporation as allegations of criminal breach of trust against him and Chief Financial Officer CFO Yasir Hassan surfaced earlier this year.

They have been accused of siphoning off MVR 13.8 million from company accounts to their accounts. Some sources have said that the duo transferred the MVR 13.8 million from RDC's main bank account at BML to Yasir's account.

But RDC denied such transactions have happened citing company financial reports and the MD too has denied such allegations.
