The High Court has given local nurse Haleemath Lamha, who was arrested concerning the murder of a Filipino woman, one day to find legal representation.
This comes after the Prosecutor General's Office appealed the Criminal Court's decision to release Lamha on bail for three months because for medical reasons to the High Court.
The hearings for the appeal case kicked off today and the defendant asked the court for three days to find legal representation.
However, the Court gave her just 1 day to find a new lawyer.
The Court granted Lamha a bail of three months and ordered her to notify the court before leaving Male as well as make herself available whenever the court informs.
The Judge's conditions prohibit the suspect from going out between 10:00 pm and 06:00 am.
Lamha was charged with accessory to murder along with two other charges for the death of Mary who worked at Indira Gandhi Memorial along with the two suspects in her murder.
Mary's husband, Marvin was charged with murder after he was arrested in October of 2021. Lamha was arrested in December of the same year.
