Police say they have not received a report of an attack on a teenager in Hulhumale' Central Mall.

This comes as news spread on social media that a 14-year-old boy had been attacked at the Central Mall on the weekend.

Police said that they had not received the report of such an incident in Hulhumale'. Police further said that they had searched the area where the attacked supposedly happened to see any signs of an attack.

They also said that they questioned those working or living near the area to check whether anyone had seen any suspicious activity that might be related to the alleged attack. Police said that they have not found any substantial evidence of an attack in the area.

Police also said that they were checking with hospitals and clinics to see whether anyone had sought treatment for wounds consistent with such an attack and said that no such patients have been found. They added that they would also check the CCTV footage from the area.
