Former Speaker of the Parliament and MP for Central Mahchangoalhi Constituency Mohamed Nasheed has been appointed to the Parliament Committee on National Development and Heritage.
Nasheed had been the Speaker of the 19th Parliament for the majority of its term before he resigned from the post last month amid a motion to remove him from the post.
This is the first time Nasheed has been appointed to a Parliamentary Committee.
He replaces fellow Democrat MP Ibrahim Rasheed (Bondey) on the National Development Committee. Bondey will replace Democrat MP Ilyas Labeeb on the Parliament Social Committee.
Speaker of the Parliament Mohamed Aslam had announced these changes.
