Police have confirmed that a foreign woman has been arrested for physically abusing a child under her case.
Police said that the report of the incident was made on the 24th of last month after it was alleged that the foreign maid had harmed a child under her care.
They said that the maid, who was identified as a 22-year-old Indian national, has been arrested under a court order.
Police also said that the Criminal Court has ordered that the suspect be remanded for 15 days following her arrest.
The arrest came before a video circulated on social media that showed a woman hitting a small child while trying to get the child to sleep.
The video shows the child lying on a pillow across the woman's lap and the woman swaying her legs to get the child to fall asleep.
But the video turns violent in seconds as the woman viciously hits the small child several times before appearing to placate the child as the child starts to cry.
