Police are searching for a foreigner in relation to a scam case in which a sum money was stolen from an individual.
Police said in an annocument that they were searching for the foreigner in relation to a case that was being investigated by the V. Felidhoo Police Station.
They identified the suspect as 29-year-old M.D Arif Hossain.
Police said that they could not serve him his chit because they have been unable to determine where the suspect is currently living.
They said that the suspect must come to the Police headquaters in Male' on the 25th of this month at 2 pm or the nearest police station.
Scam cases have grown common in the Maldives in recent times with many scammers targeting online users and online transactions made via Apps and internet backing.
Police have warned the public to remain weary of those trying to manipulate huge amounts of cash from them by nefarious means including social media scams and other scams.
