Police have arrested a woman for attacking a man using a sharp object in a mobile phone store in Male' today.
Police said that the incident was reported around 11:00 a.m. this morning and that the man received treatment at ADK for his injuries. They also said that they had arrested a 29-year-old woman in relation to the case.
Police did not give any more details about the woman and just said that they were further investigating the case.
Meanwhile, a video of the incident is circulating on social media which showed that the attack happened inside the "Dreams Mobile" store in Male'.
A woman, who appears to be a customer, approaches the store clerk behind the counter and asks to be shown a model of a mobile phone.
But the woman then seems unhappy with what was shown to her and both exchange words with the customer looking angry. The store clerk then takes a step back and appear to call someone on his own phone while the woman looks behind to check if anyone is coming before taking out a weapon, reaching over the counter and slashing the clerk on his neck before rushing out of the store.
The clerk then holds his wounds with his hands and the video shows that the man was bleeding from the wound.
