MDP Presidential Candidate President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has cast his vote in the Presidential Run-off as voting continues across the country.

He cast his vote at the ballot box placed in Jamaaludeen school for residents of Lhaviyani Atoll Hinavaru.

His wife, First Lady Fazna Ahmed has also cast her vote in the run-off today.

President Solih's run-off opponent PNC Candidate Dr. Mohamed Muizzu cast his vote earlier in the day.

The President came in behind Muizzu in the first round of voting held earlier this month. President Solih received 86,161 votes while Muizzu, who is also the Mayor of Male' City, received more than 100,000 votes in the first round.

Voting began at 08:00 a.m. earlier today and would continue till 05:00 p.m. this evening.

For the Run-Off, 282,804 individuals are eligible to vote with more than 400 new voters this round.

The Elections Commission has placed 586 ballot boxes across the country including 187 ballot boxes in the Greater Male' area, 3,119 in the inner islands, and 5 in the resorts.
