Maldives Democratic Party MDP has decided to hold a nationwide door-to-door campaign activity today as they look to strengthen their support a week before the Presidential run-off.
The outlet has come to know that the campaign activity would start at 04:00 p.m. today and end at 06:00 p.m.
For the first round of the Presidential Election, MDP Presidential Candidate President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih focused his campaign attention on the inner islands as he made several trips across the country. President Solih was not involved in door-to-door campaigning and this was evident in the result of the first round.
President Solih and MDP lost the majority of support in the bigger islands including the capital Male' City.
This made MDP change their campaign strategy with President Solih more involved in the door-to-door activities and also focusing more on the Greater Male' area.
First Lady Fazna Ahmed has also joined the door-to-door campaigning, and his cabinet ministers have also increased their involvement.
