MDP Presidential Candidate President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih says the only choice for the people in next Saturday's Presidential Election is to vote for the ruling MDP.
He made the remarks while speaking at a campaign rally in Raa Atoll Makurath.
President Solih said that the island was also ready to win the election for MDP in one round and that this was because the people had seen the difference between the five-year term of the last administration and the current administration.
Noting that he visited the island during the MDP Primary Campaigning, President Solih said that his administration has now completed some of the projects that the islanders complained were too slow.
He added that his administration would hasten the remaining projects on the island too.
The MDP Candidate highlighted that the people should think deeply before casting their votes in Saturday's Presidential Election and that this was the most important decision pertaining to the country's immediate future.
He said that the country's political landscape was mainly dominated by the MDP and the opposition PPM and that the people had no choice but to vote for the MDP.
Detailing his reasoning for the statement, President Solih said that if PNC/PPM Candidate Dr. Mohamed Muizzu secured the Presidency, the country would fall back to the tyrannical and frightening days of the last administration and that the people don't want this to happen.
President Solih further said that except for the PNC Candidate, no other Presidential Candidate can even come close to him in the election.
He added that any votes given to any other candidates would be a waste and urged the people not to waste their votes in the election.
All the major parties in the country including, JP, MNP and the Democrats have fielded their candidates for the election and three independent candidates are also vying for the Presidency.
