Maldives National Defense Force MNDF says it will allocate the SIFCO flats built especially for the members of the armed forces in the next few days.
MNDF showed the finished housing units to the members of the armed forces and their families almost 10 years after the project began.
A total of 345 apartment buildings have been developed in three housing towers.
While all the apartment units have now been finished, the units also have working water and electricity. The residential components of the housing unit have been completed though some of the commercial aspects of the housing complex remain unfinished.
MNDF confirmed that it would allocate the housing units in the coming days.
The foundations for the flats were laid back in 2014 but the construction of the units was delayed throughout the years for different purposes.
However since this administration assigned the construction work to the Chinese company 23rd Metallurgical Construction, work has progressed at a faster pace.
MNDF had said that the project would address the housing issue among members of the armed forces and give them an opportunity to find a happy and prosperous life with their families.
