MDP Presidential Candidate President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih says he believes his administration has been able to bring some reforms to the country's Judiciary in the last five years.
Speaking at a campaign rally, President Solih said that judicial reforms have been implemented and that the people now trust the country's Supreme Court a little bit more.
The President further said that improvements have been brought to the other branches of the Judiciary including the High Court and more reforms need to be brought to the Judiciary.
President Solih noted that judicial proceedings were heavily improved in the first two years of his rule but due to different influences, his administration was unable to implement the changes at the speed which he desired.
He further said that the government was now working to change the Judicial composition as he had pledged before.
He mentioned that the government had scouted views from the people as well as lawyers and other experts on changing the judicial composition and had submitted to the Parliament for approval.
